Founded in 2008 by Iraq War veteran Jamie McCallum, Palmetto State Armory (PSA) began as a small operation selling ammunition from his garage in South Carolina. Rapid growth led to a 30,000-square-foot warehouse and the launch of their first physical store in 2010. So, PSA expanded into manufacturing its own firearms and diversified its inventory to include hunting gear, fishing accessories, and more.
2016, PSA had achieved $250 million in sales and employed over 300 staff, including 100 veterans or active-duty members. PSA needed a reliable platform to build their rapidly growing eCommerce store upon. The company was still using the Magento Community version. With multiple platform issues, they observed low conversion rates, inefficiencies, inability to handle site traffic, etc.
