Magento Commerce 2.4.1 Update: Site-Wide Analysis Tool (SWAT)

When something goes wrong with a user’s Magento store, they’re likely to either fix the issue on their own, submit a support ticket, or request support after their own attempts didn’t work. It’s understandable that users want to get their sites back up and running as soon as possible, but developers can’t always diagnose the issue as quickly as retailers would like. In an effort to speed up the process, find potential problems early, and give Magento users the tools they need to keep their sites healthy, the latest version of Magento Commerce Cloud offers a free service called the Site-Wide Analysis Tool (SWAT).

Features and Capabilities of SWAT

In Magento Commerce 2.4.1, users can receive automated SWAT reports that display crucial details regarding the overall health of their Magento stores. Instead of having to submit support tickets when issues are affecting your site, this tool will help you identify problems and suggest the best practices based on your store’s specific needs. SWAT monitors your site 24/7 to summarize key findings in the following areas of your Magento store:

  • Dashboard: The SWAT dashboard provides an overview of the health of your system, with the most significant notifications and recommendations prioritized first.
  • Information: This displays customer contact information and a summary of current tickets, along with detailed information about each installed Magento product.
  • Recommendations: This section suggests the best practices in order to resolve any issues within your system.
  • Exceptions: Exceptions are errors that are caused by “abnormal conditions” within your store that don’t have specific solutions.
  • Extensions: This section lists all of the extensions you have installed on your Magento store.
  • Outages: This part displays a record of past outages, along with an option to see current data.

How to Access SWAT

SWAT’s dashboard and customized reports are accessible to any Admin users who also have the ability to access user role resources. To start using the tool, follow these simple steps once you’ve updated to the latest version of Magento Commerce Cloud:

  • Verify permissions. SWAT access is automatically provided to all Admin roles who have access to all resources. For any other Admins with custom roles, simply adjust permissions in order for them to access the SWAT resource.
  • Access SWAT. On the Admin sidebar, go to Reports > System Insights > Site-Wide-Analysis Tool. Read the Terms of Use, click Accept, and then click the tab you want to view when the dashboard appears on screen.
  • Generate report. To generate a report, click “Generate Report” in the upper right corner of the dashboard. Toggle the checkboxes depending on the Type and Priority settings you’d like the report to include, and then click “Generate Report.”
