Adobe Commerce 2.3

In July of 2020, Adobe released Cloud for Adobe Commerce 2.4 as an official upgrade from the 2.3 version. The updated software offers new features, enhanced security measures, and additional technologies that the 2.3 software simply can’t provide.

In an effort to encourage people to upgrade their sites to the latest version, Adobe has announced that support for Adobe Commerce 2.3 will end on April 28, 2022. Although the end of support for Adobe Commerce 2.3 is still several months away, it’s in retailers’ best interests to plan ahead and carefully prepare for the upgrade to Adobe Commerce 2.4.

Why It’s Important to Upgrade

Merchants can continue to use Adobe 2.3 after April 28, 2022, but there are a number of potential risks and responsibilities that come with using unsupported software. Retailers will have to:

  • Take on additional responsibility for maintaining PCI compliance.
  • Handle potential security breaches due to the lack of new patches and fixes.
  • Maintain their site completely on their own.
  • Stop submitting support tickets for any issues that arise.
  • Go without new upgrades that help protect or enhance their site.
  • Rely on increasingly outdated technologies as competitors continue to grow.

Creating an upgrade plan to move your site to the new Adobe software will give you peace of mind knowing that your store will receive the necessary fixes, security patches, and support it needs to continue running successfully.

End of Support FAQ and Guides

Merchants often have several questions about what it means when a product reaches its end of support date. In the Magento Commerce Software End of Support FAQ, developers respond to several of the most common concerns people have about upgrading, where to find more information, and whether or not they can continue using a product past its end of support date. If you’re not sure where to start in your upgrade planning process, that document is a valuable resource that can help point you in the right direction.
